I don't know who wrote this song, but I can tell you that it was sung as part of the "alternative" graduation ceremony in May 1982 at SUNY-Binghamton (now Binghamton University). I don't remember if the verse referring to the women's encampment was included. Probably not, given the time frame. My mother was slightly shocked that a song like this would be included in a college graduation, albeit an alternative one. The ceremony was, I believe, sponsored by OCC (Off Campus College).
I remember learning it from Roberta Valente in Ithaca. Not sure if she wrote it, but quite possible.
