New Way of Loving
Written by Myke Johnson, Peace Camp 1986

I’m looking for a new way of loving
Circle of women, a circle of friends
Some bring us the fire, some fill us with song,
Some heal the sad corners where life has gone wrong
When I’m not looking for you
to be everything and all of what I need
You’re free to be who you are
I’m free to see who you are
Take another look at the way we’re taught to love
Take another look at the dreams we’re dreaming of
You can get my high but if we cling we can not fly
With our own wings, with our own wings
I’m looking for a new way of loving
Circle of women, a circle of friends
Each woman is grounded, each woman is free
To share in the treasure of love’s ecstasy
When you’re not looking for me
to be everything and all of what you need
I’m free to be who I am
You’re free to see who I am
Take another look at the spark that lights a fire
Letting the air in, the flame will dance much higher
You can make me sing but if we cling we can not fly
With our own wings, with our own wings
I’m looking for a new way of loving
Circle of women, a circle of friends
Some bring us the fire, some fill us with song,
Some heal the sad corners where life has gone wrong
